The Ultimate "Miss Diva" Experience!

The month of July for me started with a bang as I was one of the chosen three winners to live the life of a "DIVA" for 2 days.
As I entered the pretty guest house in Malabar Hills -Mumbai, I felt royalty setting in. It was my home for the days to come by.
What was next was meeting fellow two winners, Mahak and Krittika -with whom I gelled like we were soul sisters.

*Let's get the "SELFIES" rolling!* ;)

Here's a little Sneak peak of what happened over the course. We were transformed. YES!

                                                                               *Before the makeover*

                                                                               *After the makeover*

BUT BUT BUT, Being "Miss Diva" is NOT a piece of cake and we got a dose of just that, step by step.

So, Ready for our itinerary? Here we go!

Day 1.

1. Ramp Walk Training with Supermodel "ALESIA RAUT" -
From being a girl who feels she'll trip the very next second wearing high heels to matching the beats of the music, walking on the ramp like she owns the kingdom of her dreams, I was transformed by Alesia Ma'am, into a new me.
There's absolutely no second thoughts that we had a mentor who's flawless, perfect and just too gorgeous.
'We learnt, we changed, we conquered.'

2. Fitness training with expert "SAMIR PUROHIT and NAMRATA PUROHIT"-
What's better than getting into shape?
Yes, right, Nothing. We were taught a new form of exercise called "Pilates" by Samir sir and Namrata, that is famous for developing strength, flexibility, coordination and not to mention, flat abs also. It is practiced by everyone from elite athletes to regular people.
'Health is wealth', Agreed!

Posing with Samir Sir!

The first day ended on a fabulous note and we were on back to our guest house and on our beds all nervous and excited at the same time for there was a bright new day awaiting to shine upon us.

Day 2.

1. Spa Session at Om Thaai Salon in Bandra-
All the fatigue, tiredness just vanished with magical healing. From Manicure to pedicure, the staff at the salon were so affectionate and pampering. I was relaxed and refreshed with a "Let's rock the day ahead" mindset.

2. Getting hair and makeup done for the photo-shoot and dressing up in gorgeous designer outfits-
It was almost time to get "clicked", but before that we had to ensure we looked perfect to match the "Miss Diva" fame. We had Agneesh Banerjee Sir as a wonderful stylist and Subhash Shinde's makeup team to make us look flawless.
A dash of color on the cheeks, a new hairstyle on the head, glitter on heels, shine in eyes and we were all set to pose, glide and sway our way to the limelight!

3. Photo-shoot with the Ace photographer "Appurva Shah"-
It was time for the big moment, We were in the studios to get clicked by none other than the amazing Appurva sir, who works like magic, There's no room for anxiety when he clicks masterpieces.
'Nothing like living like a queen in between *Action* and *Pack Up* is what I have seen'.
You can also follow him on Facebook- https://www.facebook.com/Appurvashahphotography

Icing on the cake was when we got a chance to meet, greet and click with the reigning Miss Diva's 2013- Srishti Rana , Manasi Moghe and Gurleen Grewal .

Last but not the least, we ended our journey with a group dinner!

OH WAIT. It hasn't ended yet.
It's time to reveal the most important part of our journey-
Wouldn't you like to see our journey in a fun video? I bet it'll be more fun for you than it was for us!
Here's it!

Finally, I conclude by thanking Team Femina, Miss Diva and the Times Group for organizing the #MissDiva2014 Selfie contest and giving us a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to live like a diva who step by step earns her way to stardom, but always ahead and never back.
It's hard work, patience, perseverance and dedication of not just the girls but so many people around that goes into making a diva that she finally becomes.
But as they say, What ends well, is well!

These days shall forever be there in my heart like priceless moments that cannot be bought, just felt and appreciated.

Thank you! :)

#WHATTHEBLACK - For Black is Beautiful!

BLACK is that one color which gets me go gaga from on a dull, boring day to a bright, adventurous one.
It is so perfect that it goes with almost every outfit, atmosphere and location. You don't need to think twice before picking up a black device.

As it's said,
"WHEN IN DOUBT, GET BLACK" ;)

I love colors but that doesn't rule out the importance of black in my life. It's the essence of nature. Black makes the colors appear beautiful. You usually take hours to choose that one perfect color but when black is spotted, there is no looking back.
Black always under promises and over delivers.
It is no more that color of loneliness or sad times, It's vibrant, chic, and very much in vogue. Something that sets eye balls rolling.

There are many BLACK things I love and wish for,
But let me cut the queue to the 'Top 5' -

1. A BLACK AUDI
Nothing speaks class better than an Audi. I am not a big fan of cars or automobiles but when it's a Black Audi, it's difficult to resist. In my wishlist since eternity lies this beauty. From the smooth drives to the head turning built, this is just a wonder car - A royal experiment that has no competition in the charm it displays. Bowled over without being a cricketer, such is the aura.
It doesn't matter which model it is, A1, A3, A5, Q3 etc. until and unless it's an Audi in Black.

2. A BLACK iPad
Apple is royalty personified. Those who have it just don't flaunt it without a reason. It has so much more than just beauty on the outside, an operating system and quality to die for.
An iPad in black is a gadget that can make my life 10 times easier.
Being a Gemini, I am born a multitasking giant but I always feel the need to slow down and ease off the pressure over my brain and only a smart iPad device can do it. When you buy it, you see to it that it looks good too. So, Black is what I wish for.
From watching movies to catching up on my daily soaps, I can do it all plus get compliments when I show it off. My black Apple iPad, My love!

3. A LITTLE BLACK LOUIS VUITTON DRESS
Getting an LBD for a girl isn't that a difficult task in the world where there are shops, sale and markets at every place. But, as I am no normal girl but one who's 'Glitter on heels and shine in eyes", so I have my wishlist which has stars.
A little black dress by none other but the brand that gets my heart racing - Louis Vuitton, Yes, that supreme excellence.
It's drool worthy but not so budget friendly. Sigh!
Or else, I would by now have a whole house filled with it.

4.  A BLACK PUPPY                                                                                                                                 Nothing speaks of cuteness more than pets. Frankly, I was never fond of animals,
but lately I am changing. Call that early signs of ageing or whatsoever but I have started liking animals. A cute little black colored puppy would be perfect to ensure there's a live wire in the house that keeps everyone happy. Dogs are selfless when it comes to loving, giving, caring and living, A quality we humans lack to a great extent. And oh yes, they are so adorable, Who would disagree? ;)

5.  ONE PAIR OR EVEN MORE OF BLACK GUCCI HEELS                                                                                    Heels for a girl is what wine is for boys. There is no love sincerer than the love
for heels for it gives me a better view of the world on the other side, I look taller, stronger and confident. No matter how much the pain, people look at the beauty of it. And what's better to add spontaneity than having Gucci, the brand that's high on quality to give you the attitude of Miss pretty.
Gucci black high heels is an item on my wishlist that's here to stay till I get rich, or lucky, or both! HAHA!

As we draw towards the end, I would say,
BLACK is just not a color but a lifestyle. Not everyone is bold enough to let their aspirations take on over society's criticism, but for the one's who do, they do it in style. They choose black. It speaks for what their words won't. It says it all, IN STYLE!

Catching Up on 'My' Zest For Life!

Life is all about moments, experiences, people and surroundings. It's all about ZEST.

What is ZEST?
For me, It's that tingly feeling in my tummy that gives me wings to fly and explore the extraordinary. It's that boost to my morale that sets me on a journey to conquer it all.
I believe in living with zest no matter how much the stress!

There is just not 1 or 2 but many things that add zest to my life and why not? Life's too short to be monotonous and boring, routine is lethal.

Let me share those 5 things that zest up my life the most -

1. TRAVELLING
To travel comes first in my Top-5 list because it runs in my blood. I am an explorer, a mover, a go-getter. I don't believe in sitting idle at one place but instead moving my ass to places I have never seen before, to get to know traditions and cultures I never knew existed, to indulge sinfully in food that's unknowingly divine, to get magically touched by the healing of mother nature that's pure and blissful.
From climbing half of the distance of Mount Everest at the age of 10 in a school camp to Manali, to exploring the mighty golden island UAE- Dubai- Abu Dhabi at 18, I have done it all, at times alone, at times with all.
There is something about travelling that makes me forget all my worries, I return back as a new person, one who is brave because I have been weak, fearless because I have been fearful and wise because I have been foolish.

Everytime I am in a flight, I look down from the window and wave at kids who might be waving back from down beneath! :)

Sunbathing at a private beach island at Ritz Carlton Hotel, Abu Dhabi, UAE.

A mesmerizing view from my room's balcony which transported me to heaven in my recent trip to Abu Dhabi.

2. SPORTS - MOSTLY CRICKET
Living in India comes with it's own terms and conditions, one of it being,
"YOU ARE BORN A CRICKET ENTHUSIAST", Yes, And being a girl didn't stop that.
Not just cricket, I love watching Football too, the recently concluded FIFA World Cup 2014 with Germany being crowned as champions had me hooked on from the start till the stop.
But, Cricket rules my world. It's something that's like a nerve-wrecking drug, It makes me dance and cry, celebrate and mourn, conquer and despair, The game has it all.

Met these Cricket legends- Rahul Dravid, James Faulkner, Shane Warne, Steve Smith during the IPL season this year overseas while dining at a restaurant after Rajasthan Royals won vs Kolkata Night Riders on April 29th'14.

Cheering for my team RAJASTHAN ROYALS during IPL 2014 in the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.

3. FOOD                                                                                                                                                   It's like, I can even forgive my enemies after a good meal. Yes, That's the power of food in my life. I won't say I live to eat or I eat to live, because there are many more things that I live to do but food and eating is a very important part of my life. Nothing adds more zest than discovering new cuisines that not only fills the stomach but make the soul happy.

From homemade Chicken Biryani...

...To International desserts, All are pure love!

Oh, How lovely is a welcome carved on desserts  - At the lovely "The Leela Palace, Mumbai :)

For the health conscious me ;)

4. FAMILY AND FRIENDS                                                                                                                    The most priced possession I own without earning and that's what makes it special. They stand by you in good and bad, they make you laugh when you don't even feel like smiling, they give you a shoulder to cry on but giggle till eternity when you fall ;)
Family ties you in a bond for a lifetime and beyond whereas friends walk in from nowhere and make a home in your heart .
When you are together, there is nothing that can stop you from reaching great heights for even if you fall, you know there are people who will stand there welcoming you like you just came from a royal ball.

A collage which includes all my precious in one frame!

Long boring days just pass by when you have friends aside.

Picture with Mom.

5. MOVIES-FASHION-ENTERTAINMENT
Life will be a dull ride if there won't be any sort of entertainment to compile by. Entertainment comes in all sorts, for me it's all about dramatic movies, dancing on evergreen songs and always being in vogue. It adds a zest to my life making it the best.
I watch all Bollywood movies possible and download as many Hollywood ones as I can because more than just romance or songs, it has so much to teach us, I learn and then unlearn - All thanks to the movies I see, to the books I read and the fashion I breathe!
"Lights- Camera- Action" are the 3 magical words that always work for me and not "I Love You", Oh please! ;)

A snap from the recent Lakme Fashion Week which I attended in March in Mumbai.

With the magical Fashion Designer Sonaakshi Raj during LFW'14.

Getting pampered to look my best when the photographer says, "ACTION" ;)

From a recent shoot for Femina Miss Diva 2014 at a pre buzz event by ace photographer Appurva Shah.
So much madness and fun with my girls Mahak and Krittika! ( P.S - I am the one in the centre )

On a whole, I would like to conclude by saying -
Everyone is different and so are our choices. What adds zest to my life might be completely inappropriate to your's but you don't need to match and sync choices to live together, Instead just appreciate each other's point of view and gel well.
I love life because I live with Zest, The zest which I find in everything I see and which I am yet to feel. I make it a point to learn new things, forgive quickly, love more and let go of what no more grows.
After-all,

"LIFE'S TOO SHORT TO BE BORING. SO, FORGET REGRETS AND LIVE WITH ZEST" :D
